  • Taught practical skills for EMT’s at a local community college as a volunteer
  • Volunteered for Mass Casualty Incident training with several small volunteer fire departments in the Sierra Sacramento Valley area
  • Taught some skills as needed (e.g. triage) in many of the above MCI trainings

Mid 90’s

  • Attended Community Centers in San Francisco and East Bay Area volunteered as needed

Late 90’s – Early 00’s

  • Joined Foundation for Community Encouragement as Member
    • Attended Community Building Workshop
    • Worked in support of other members on small projects
  • Worked in leadership for two student organizations at SFSU
    • increased student membership
    • increased budget as necessary
    • increased student led events and services for the campus at large
    • fund-raised for scholarship and student events
    • acted as liaison, advocate, and referee between students and faculty; sometimes between two student orgs
    • outreach to similar student groups on other campuses
    • co-created annual student lead event in 1999 that has continued to 2025

2008

  • Attended heated discussions between opposing student groups at nearby college to try to facilitate bridging a contentious divide.
  • Discovered three leaders of one group had more interest in bonding through turmoil
    • attempted to mitigate the ramifications of the turmoil in order to help facilitate bonding within the other groups and potential out-group bridging to increase understanding.

2009-2016

  • Volunteered in working-class neighborhood during and just post housing crisis
  • conflict resolution between neighbors who did not know one another
  • facilitated communication among neighbors to prevent theft and property damage
  • communicated with security hired to prevent vandalism in order to humanize residents
  • coordinated rescue of kittens that were a result of cats left at abandoned homes, creating a large feral colony in the neighborhood
  • offered free tutoring for students in need

2013-2017

  • Large tournament gaming group
  • volunteered for logistics and background support
  • contact person for inter and intra team communications and conflict resolution

2022-Present

  • Began attending multiple community groups in order to ascertain where needs can be filled.
  • Advocated for and created social events to assist in small scale bridge building in Alamance County such as get-to-know-you BINGO, a bi-weekly game day, and a monthly Afternoon Tea Potluck.
